Job summary

Salt City Trucking is hiring a CDL-A Local Intermodal Driver in Fontana, CA. The role offers hourly pay and home daily schedules with night shifts available.

You will handle local intermodal freight, operate on a slip-seat basis, and complete routes across the Inland Empire and LA area with some longer northbound trips. Candidates must hold a valid Class A CDL, a DOT Medical Card, and have at least 3 months of tractor-trailer experience with a clean driving record.

Pay Details & Schedule

• Hourly Pay: $19.25
• Stop Pay: $18.71 per stop
• Average Workload: Approximately 3–6 loads per day
• Home Daily
• Night schedules available:
• • Sunday–Thursday, or
  • Tuesday–Saturday
• Drivers generally use their full 11-hour driving time; shifts may extend to the full 14-hour on‑duty window depending on freight demands
• 10‑hour breaks between shifts

Job Details

• Local intermodal container freight secured on chassis
• Routes across the Inland Empire and Los Angeles area, with some northbound trips through the Grapevine to the Shafter and Lebec areas
• Operations use multiple rail ramps in the greater Los Angeles area
• Mix of drop‑and‑hook, live loads, live unloads, and preloaded freight
• Slip‑seat operation: trucks are parked at the San Bernardino yard
• Automatic dispatch; drivers do not choose their routes
• Required northbound deliveries and pickups are part of the account
