Job summary

Salt City Trucking is seeking a CDL-A Local Intermodal Driver to earn $80,000-$88,000 annually while hauling containers on a dedicated local intermodal account. You will run to Chicago and back daily, with additional local work around Fort Wayne and home time every day.

Positions offer an 11-hour day, Monday–Friday with start around 10:00 AM, automatic trucks, slip-seat operation, and a $5,000 hiring bonus.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL and DOT Medical Card required.
• Hazmat endorsement required within 60 days of hire; reimbursement provided after endorsement.
• Minimum 3 months of truck driving experience.
• Riders not permitted; No SAP Drivers.

Responsibilities

• Run local intermodal routes to Chicago and back within a 100-mile radius of Fort Wayne.
• Transport containers to customers and return them to rail yard.
• Home daily with day shift or night shift options; slip-seat operation.
• Operate automatic trucks only and maintain safe, efficient driving.

CDL-A Local Intermodal Driver - Good Pay + $5K Bonus | Home Daily

Earn $80,000-$88,000 per year while hauling containers on a dedicated local intermodal account. Drivers run to Chicago and back daily, with additional local work around Fort Wayne and home time every day.

Pay Details

• Average Weekly Pay: Approximately $1,600-$1,700
• Hiring Bonus: $5,000
• Customer Live Load/Unload: $56
• Customer Drop/Hook: $28
• Out-of-Route Empty Move/Crosstown Drop: $15
• Rail Delay Pay: $15 per hour after 1 hour
• Detention Pay: $15 per hour after 1.5 hours
• Hazmat Load Pay: $25 per load

Job Details

• Report to the Fort Wayne yard daily for dispatch and truck assignment.
• Run to Chicago and back each day.
• Complete local work within a 100-mile radius of Fort Wayne as needed.
• Transport containers to customers and return containers to the rail yard.
• Day shift freight mix: approximately 60% drop-and-hook and 40% live load/unload.
• Night shift freight mix: approximately 80% drop-and-hook and 20% live load/unload.
• Trucks remain at the account when drivers are off duty.
• Slip-seat operation with automatic trucks only.

Job Requirements
