Job summary

ABF Freight®, an ArcBest® company, is seeking CDL-A drivers for pickup and delivery duties within proximity of the distribution center. You will load and unload trailers, operate in a dock-like environment, and follow location-specific schedules.

Requirements include Class-A CDL with doubles/triples, tanker and hazmat endorsements, and no automatic restriction, plus 1 year of tractor/trailer experience. Must be 21+, have a safe driving record, and pass DOT drug and medical screening.

Qualifications

• 1 year of verifiable tractor/trailer experience; candidates with less than 1 year may be eligible for training.

Responsibilities

• Pickup and delivery of cargo to and from destinations near the consolidation/distribution center.
• Loading and unloading of trailers using dock worker techniques.

The loading and unloading of trailers utilizing the same techniques, technology and procedures as a dock worker. Actual duties and schedule may vary depending on terminal location.

Requirements

Experience:

• 1 year of verifiable tractor/trailer experience (Candidates with less than 1 year experience may be eligible for training).

Certifications:

• Class-A CDL with doubles/triples, tanker and hazardous materials endorsements and no automatic restriction

Additional Requirements:

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Good stable work record.
• Safe driving record (from MVR and previous employment).
• Be able to pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and meet DOT medical requirements.
• Shift days and hours required for this position vary by location and may include days, nights, and/or weekends. Being able to work the required hours at this location will be considered a minimum requirement.
