Job summary

Safeload Trucking is hiring CDL-A Solo Company Drivers for local container drayage based in the Charleston area, SC. Drivers will pick up loaded containers from Charleston area port terminals and deliver them to customers within approximately 150 miles of Charleston, returning empties to the port or yard.

This is a no-touch container position with daily home time and a weekend differential, plus HazMat delivery pay and a $500 transition bonus.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• Current TWIC card is required.
• Minimum 6 months of container or tanker experience within the last 3 years.
• No automatic-transmission restriction.
• Must be able to road test in a manual-transmission truck.

Responsibilities

• Pick up loaded shipping containers from Charleston area port terminals.
• Deliver containers to local customers.
• Return empty containers to the appropriate port or yard.
• Handle drop and hook or live-unload deliveries.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
