CrossCountry Freight Solutions Inc is seeking Class A Linehaul Drivers in Kansas City, KS for a Monday-Friday shift starting at 10pm. Drivers are responsible for transferring freight to designated locations, hooking/unhooking trailers, and completing required paperwork per DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• At least 21 years of age.
• 1 year of commercial driving experience.
• No DUI/DWI in the past 3 years.
• No more than 3 traffic violations in the past 3 years.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsements or willingness to obtain (renewals reimbursed).
• Must complete a pre-employment skills assessment.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Hook up and haul trailers between customer/terminal locations as directed by dispatch or supervisor.
• Ensure shipping documentation is complete for DOT inspections and accompanies shipment to delivery point.
• Operate tractor-trailer for long-distance trips.

Job Summary

Essential Job Duties

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Hook up and haul trailers between our customer/terminal locations as instructed by dispatch or immediate supervisor
• Ensure all shipping documentation is available for DOT inspection and that appropriate paperwork accompanies the shipment to the delivery point
• Operate tractor-trailer combination for extended periods of time, over long distances

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Skills & Knowledge

• Valid Class A CDL
• At least 21 years of age
• 1 year of commercial driving experience
• No DUI’s or DWI’s (in the past 3 years)
• No more than 3 traffic violations (in past 3 years)
• Must have Hazmat and Tanker endorsements or be willing to obtain - renewals reimbursable
• This position requires successful completion of a pre-employment skills assessment

Physical Demands

• Must be able to frequently enter and exit the cab of a commercial vehicle.
• Must be able to carry freight weighing up to 40 pounds for a distance of up to 20 feet.
• Must be able to hook and unhook various commercial vehicle combinations, to manually lower and raise landing gear, to operate fifth wheel release levers, to lock and release pintle-hooks, to attach and release safety chains, to open and close cargo doors, to climb into and out of vehicles, and to fuel and check oil/coolant levels of vehicles.
