Job summary

Schneider National is seeking an experienced Intermodal Driver to haul freight containers using company-owned chassis. This 100% no-touch, mostly drop-and-hook operation keeps you moving with limited loading duties.

You’ll drive at night, support a 200-mile radius around Kansas City, KS, and benefit from long-term stability, paid orientation, 401(k) with company match, and a generous sign-on bonus for experienced drivers.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required and in good standing.
• Night driving is required for this account.
• HazMat and Tanker endorsements are strongly preferred.
• Residence within 40 miles of Kansas City, KS is required.
• Minimum 3 months of Class A driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Haul freight containers on company-owned chassis with no-touch operations.
• Operate in the Kansas City area (≈200 miles radius) with occasional night shifts.

Overview

• Haul freight containers secured to company-owned chassis.
• 100% no-touch freight that is 90% drop-and-hook.
• Drive in and out of railyards with 200 miles of Kansas City, KS.

Pay and bonus potential

• Mileage pay and load pay, plus hourly pay while on duty, not driving.
• Longevity bonus: Earn 3% of annual gross pay each year.
• $5,000 sign-on bonus paid over 12 monthly payments in your first year for experienced drivers.
• Paid orientation.
• Paid time off after 6 months, plus 6 days of holiday pay per year.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Drivers on this account are required to drive at night.
• Tanker endorsement and HazMat endorsement are strongly preferred.
• Live within 40 miles of Kansas City, KS.
• Minimum 3 months of Class A driving experience.
