Safeload Trucking is hiring CDL-A Intermodal Drivers for home daily work in Portage, Southwest Michigan. This role covers intermodal drayage with no-touch freight, offering daily home time and newer equipment.

You will operate between rail yards, customer sites, and distribution centers, performing routine inspections and safe handling of containers. Compensation includes hourly wages with mileage pay, plus benefits such as medical/dental/vision, an S HSA with company contributions, a 401(k)

Competenze

• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• 1 year of professional driving in last 3 years or 2 years in last 5 years.
• Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening.

Mansioni

• Pickup, transport, and delivery of intermodal containers.
• Operate between rail/intermodal facilities, customer locations, and distribution centers.
• Perform standard pre-trip and post-trip tractor inspections.
• Handle container, chassis, and coupling/uncoupling procedures in rail-yard and intermodal terminals.

Job Type: Driver

Home Daily – Sleep in your own bed every night

Newer Equipment – Average fleet age of 2 years

No Touch Freight – Intermodal containers only

Pay Structure:

Day Shift: $12.20/hour + $0.40 CPM

Night Shift: $15.70/hour + $0.40 CPM

Mileage: $0.40 CPM on all runs

This is an hourly plus mileage compensation package with local and regional intermodal/drayage work centered in the Portage/Southwest Michigan market.

Requirements:
