Job summary

SC Steel, LLC is seeking a trailer loader to support structural steel fabrication and shipments. The role involves moving trailers within yard areas, inspecting loads for safety, and assisting with truck loading while ensuring DOT documentation is complete and accurate.

The candidate should have a High School Diploma or GED, a CDL Class A license, and at least three years of related material handling experience, including forklift operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CDL Class A license required.
• Minimum 3 years of related material handling and forklift experience.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers from yard to fabrication shops or other locations as directed.
• Inspect loaded trailers to ensure loading is sound and will not distort materials during transit.
• Keep trailer yard organized and assist with truck loads.
• Communicate with maintenance regarding trailer maintenance needs.
• Perform basic inspections of trailers prior to pulling them into fabrication shops: inspect tires, check pressure, inspect for defects, replace bulbs and glad hands.
• Maintain all documentation needed for DOT compliance (Tractor Driver's Log, Trailer Inspection documentation).
