Qualdoc is seeking a CDL-A Heavy Equipment Operator in Allentown, PA. This full-time role combines commercial driving, equipment operation, and field labor with safety-focused teamwork.

The ideal candidate holds a Class A CDL, has heavy equipment experience, and can respond to changing assignments and emergency service calls. Responsibilities include driving tractor-trailers, inspecting trucks, securing loads, and operating a range of equipment when qualified.

Formación

• CDL-A with a good driving record.
• Experience operating heavy equipment.
• Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, loaders.
• Ability to perform basic mechanical tasks and maintenance.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and complete required training.
• Willingness to work extended hours and respond to emergency calls.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and perform physical labor.

Responsabilidades

• Drive tractor-trailers to transport equipment, materials, and machinery to job sites.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and equipment per DOT requirements.
• Verify load securement and transportation permits for oversized/overweight equipment.
• Operate cranes, excavators, backhoes, grapple trucks, dump trucks, and other equipment when qualified.
• Assist with equipment setup, lifts, load transfers, and field repairs.
• Use chains, cables, winches, hydraulic tools, welding equipment, and cutting torches as needed.
• Perform minor equipment servicing and report complex issues.
• Participate in safety briefings and follow work plans.
• Load, unload, organize, and secure equipment and supplies before/after assignments.
• Maintain clean work areas and ensure vehicles/equipment are stocked and ready.

Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Starting Pay: $26.00/hour; higher depending on experience

Position Summary

We are seeking a CDL-A Heavy Equipment Operator to transport equipment, operate construction machinery, and support specialized field projects. This hands‑on position combines commercial driving, equipment operation, physical labor, and safety-focused teamwork.

The ideal candidate has a Class A CDL, experience operating heavy equipment, and the flexibility to respond to changing job assignments and emergency service calls.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive tractor-trailers to transport equipment, materials, and machinery to and from job sites.

• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and equipment in accordance with DOT requirements.

• Verify load securement and transportation permits for oversized or overweight equipment.

• Operate cranes, excavators, backhoes, grapple trucks, dump trucks, and other equipment when qualified.

• Assist with equipment setup, specialty lifting, load transfers, infrastructure repairs, and related field activities.

• Use chains, cables, winches, hydraulic tools, welding equipment, cutting torches, electrical tools, and common hand tools as needed.

• Perform minor equipment servicing and report more complex mechanical issues for repair.

• Participate in safety briefings, follow work plans, and maintain awareness of coworkers and surrounding hazards.

• Load, unload, organize, and secure equipment and supplies before and after assignments.

• Maintain clean work areas and ensure vehicles and equipment are properly stocked and ready for use.

Skills and Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) with a good driving record.

• Experience with construction labor, equipment operation, or physically demanding field work.

• Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, loaders, or skid steers preferred.

• Ability to perform basic mechanical tasks and minor equipment maintenance.

• Ability to follow safety procedures and complete required training and qualification tests.

• Willingness to work extended hours and remain available for emergency callouts.

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical labor.

Schedule and Compensation

• 40 hours guaranteed per week.

• Average workload of 60 or more hours per week, with additional overtime as needed.

• On-call availability 24/7, including weekends and holidays.

• Hours outside Monday–Friday, 7 a.m.–4 p.m., are paid at time-and-a-half under the stated pay arrangement.

• Per diem, hotel reimbursement, and layover pay for qualifying travel assignments.

Additional Requirements

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

• Must complete required safety training and qualifications.
