Job summary

McLane is seeking a Trainee Component Driver to learn essential functions of distributing products to customer locations. You will gain exposure to warehouse operations and driver training as part of development toward becoming a qualified McLane Driver.

Responsibilities include operating a tractor-trailer safely, maintaining logs, inspecting equipment, and delivering products on time while providing customer service. Qualifications include a Class A CDL and legal age requirements.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL and be 21 or older.
• Willingness to learn and adhere to DOT regulations and safety policies.
• Ability to read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with laws and company policies.
• Inspect tractor-trailer for defects and submit DOT inspection report.
• Document delivery receipts, temperatures, and exceptions with DDH.
• Ride with Driver Trainer to learn vehicle operation and regulations.
• Maintain driver logs according to DOT regulations.
