Job summary

McLane Company is seeking a Trainee Component Driver to learn the essential functions of distributing products to customer locations. You will gain exposure to warehouse and other operations as part of the developmental process of becoming a McLane Driver.

Qualifications

• Hold a Class A CDL and be at least 21 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability and willingness to load/unload and deliver all products ordered by customers.
• Read and comprehend labels, bills of lading, and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with regulations and policies.
• Inspect tractor-trailer for defects and submit DOT inspection reports.
• Use DDH to document delivery receipts and product temperatures.
• Ride with Driver Trainer to learn driving operations and techniques.
• Maintain driver logs per DOT regulations.
• Assist in unloading and delivering products to customer premises.
• Provide on-time, undamaged deliveries and manage customer credits.
• Other duties as assigned.
