Ben E. Keith is hiring for a DOT Driver Trainee in Amarillo, TX. The role delivers products along assigned routes, maintains delivery windows, and builds experience for a Driver DOT position within the Ben E. Keith Foods division.

The position requires a valid Class A CDL, strong reading and math skills, and the ability to manage time and maintain records; upon program completion, promotion to a Driver DOT role is expected.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety and operating manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to perform basic math in all units.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time.
• Knowledge of customer service principles.
• Applicants with a diploma/GED and related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver product along routes with multiple stops.
• Read customer invoices to determine items to move and deliver.
• Assemble customer orders for delivery to businesses.
• Maintain delivery time windows.
• Ensure accuracy and prevent damage during delivery.
• Follow traffic laws and transport procedures.
• Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and report issues.
• Maintain vehicle and cargo records per regulations.
• Report delays or accidents to bases.
