McLane is hiring CDL‑A Driver Trainee to train into a full Driver role. You will learn hands‑on with experienced Trainers and gain skills to safely operate a tractor‑trailer, handle deliveries, and provide outstanding customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Possess a Class A CDL.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Must meet MVR and risk rating qualifications.
• Meet eligibility requirements in the McLane Transfer and Promotion Policy.
• Ability and willingness to select/load/unload and/or deliver ALL products that may be ordered by McLane customers.
• Read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.
• Perform mathematical calculations to verify quantities of product.
• Communicate with customers, management, and other teammates.
• Safely drive a tractor‑trailer, use a 2‑wheeled dolly, ramp, and on board PeopleNet devices.
• Read/write/understand English at job level.

Responsibilities

• Learn every aspect of the Trainee Component Driver role under the guidance of experienced Trainers.
• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely per regulations and company policies.
• Inspect equipment before/after trips and document DOT inspections.
• Use Driver Delivery Handheld to document deliveries and temps.
• Assist in unloading and delivering product to customers.
• Provide on‑time, undamaged product delivery and handle returns.
