Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a Driver Trainee to learn and perform routes delivering food and related products. This entry-level driver role starts with training and progresses to delivering to customers on local/OTR routes, with night shifts on Sundays through Thursdays.

The position requires a CDL A, a clean MVR, and ability to pass DOT health and road tests. You will be training on safety checks, paperwork, and customer interactions while maintaining daily logs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent required.
• Valid CDL A required.
• 21 years of age or older required.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) for past 3 years.
• Pass post-offer drug test and road test.
• Attains or has valid DOT Health Card.

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete the Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program as required.
• Ride with and assist driver trainer during deliveries.
• Perform pre/post trip safety inspections per DOT regulations and report safety issues.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety guidelines; report hazards.
• Inspect trailer load, verify freight paperwork, and secure equipment.
• Drive to deliver customer orders according to schedule.
• Unload products, verify deliveries with customers, collect payments if required.
• Ensure security of tractor, trailer and freight at all times.
• Complete daily hours of service logs per DOT and company rules.
• Maintain cleanliness of tractor, loading dock area and trailers.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
