Job summary

Kinsley Steel, Inc. in York, PA is seeking a CDL Class A Driver to operate flatbed and related equipment. The role requires safe, professional transport of steel and related materials, with emphasis on load securement, DOT compliance, and timely deliveries.

Responsibilities include pre/post trip inspections, maintaining logs, coordinating with shipping, and staying out-of-town as necessary. The position offers overtime and weekend work as needed and is based at our York home base.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record and MVR.
• Minimum 5 years of commercial truck driving experience.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Knowledge of DOT safety procedures and load securement.
• Willingness to work overtime and Saturdays; occasional out-of-town trips.
• Experience delivering to construction sites preferred.
• Experience hauling stretch and wide loads is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safe and professional operation of a Tractor Trailer and flatbed to haul steel and equipment.
• Properly secure loads using chains, binders, and straps.
• Physically load and unload materials using various means.
• Coordinate with shipping for daily deliveries and pickups.
• Plan routes and schedules to meet deadlines while following DOT regulations.
• Maintain Driver's Log and safety reports per state and federal rules.
• Submit freight documents in a timely manner.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report issues.
• Conduct minor vehicle maintenance and refueling; keep vehicles clean.
• Maintain professional communication with dispatchers, customers, and team members.
• Assist team in other non-driving tasks when deliveries are not needed.
