Job summary

GFL Environmental is seeking a Recovery Technician to join our team in the United States. The role involves loading, securing, and transporting cargo in compliance with all regulations, performing inspections, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Applicants should hold a CDL Class A license with an X endorsement, have a high school diploma, and demonstrate excellent organization and communication skills. Overtime and outdoor work are common, with competitive wages and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Safely load, secure, and transport cargo in compliance with regulations and safety standards.
  • Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections for vehicle and load safety.
  • Complete and maintain required documentation including logs, manifests, and bills of lading.
  • Follow transportation, hours of service, dangerous goods, and workplace safety laws.
  • Maneuver vehicles for loading/unloading and ensure equipment positioning.
  • Report vehicle defects, incidents, and delivery issues promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
  • Deliver products courteously and on time, maintain clean work areas.
  • Provide training and perform additional duties as assigned.

What you'll do:

  • Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Will be required to work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Manual dexterity, ability to lift 75+ lbs required.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Weekend work may be required occasionally.
