Job summary

Welch Packaging is seeking a driver for a home daily route in Ohio. The role involves safely and efficiently delivering finished product to customers in accordance with state and federal laws. You will operate a tractor-trailer or box truck, ensure on-time deliveries, and maintain compliance with company policies.

This position emphasizes safety, accuracy, and timely documentation. Starting pay is $28/hour with a $2.00 shift differential, and duties may vary by location.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CDLA License required.

Responsibilities

• Complies with Driver responsibilities as outlined in company DAART program and as required by DOT.
• Maintain vehicle in accordance to Elkhart Transportation management policy.
• Operates vehicle in a safe and efficient manner complying with company policy and procedures, and applicable state and federal laws.
• Support on time delivery by transporting loads by established route to proper destination as efficient as possible while observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Inspect trailer loads to ensure proper loading processes and it is the correct load before leaving facility.
• Verify product count while truck is being loaded.
• Comply with obtaining correct acknowledgement or signature and date for bill of lading and necessary signatures and date; return properly completed documentation to Transportation Manager.

Essential Functions

Requirements/Qualifications

Experience

• Prior experience driving in large vehicles, such as box truck or similar
• Demonstrated experience practicing safe driving practices
• Previous experience delivering and handling freight preferred
