Job summary

VLS Environmental Solutions, LLC in El Cajon, CA, is seeking a CDL Class A Driver to haul hazardous and non-hazardous waste. This role involves cross-country, out-of-state, and overnight runs, with opportunities to support operations during peak periods.

You will operate commercial tankers and roll-off trucks, perform loading/unloading, maintain logs and compliance with DOT regulations, and uphold safety standards while handling demanding physical tasks.

Qualifications

• Current Class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements.
• Clean DMV driving record; 2 years cross-country experience including logs.
• DOT drug screens, physicals and road test required.
• 2 years driving/operating semi tractors and roll-off trailers.
• 2 years experience in hazardous waste industry.
• Knowledge of DMV/DOT regs for hazardous waste transport.
• Current 40-hour Hazwoper certificate.
• Ability to perform strenuous physical labor.
• Ability to crawl, stand, bend, stoop, kneel and reach.
• Ability to wear respirator and protective clothing.
• Ability to sit/drive long periods.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds several times a day.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate commercial tankers, double roll-offs, semi-tractors, box vans and flatbed.
• On-load/offload containers of hazardous waste.
• Local and OTR responsibilities.
• Use proper placards per DOT regulations.
• Verify containers are properly marked and labeled.
• Perform tasks related to hazardous waste management including drum screening and operating monitoring equipment.
• Complete and sign driver logs, service/work orders, manifests and bills of lading.
• Maintain required training and licenses for job functions.
• Other duties as assigned.
