Job summary

Performance Food Group is seeking a professional driver to operate tractor-trailers or straight trucks on intrastate, interstate, and OTR routes, delivering food products safely and on time. You will be the company face, building customer relationships while following DOT regulations and internal safety guidelines.

The role requires 12+ months of driving experience, a valid CDL A, and the ability to pass background checks and health screenings.

Qualifications

• 12+ months commercial driving experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid CDL A license.
• Meet state licensing/certification requirements where applicable.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years.
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check.
• Pass road test.
• Valid current DOT Health Card or able to secure one.
• Able to hand-lift and move freight of varying size and weight.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally.
• Functions as a team member and performs duties to best serve the company.
• Performs safety checks including pre/post trip inspections under DOT rules.
• Reports safety issues or needed repairs promptly.
• Follows DOT regulations and company safety policies.
• Inspects trailers for proper loading and secured freight.
• Checks and completes required freight paperwork accurately.
• Delivers customer orders according to route schedule.
• Unloads products and places them in designated storage areas.
• Verifies deliveries with customers and collects signatures.
• Loads customer returns and secures trailer doors.
• Ensures equipment and freight are secured when parked.
• Completes daily hours-of-service logs per DOT/state/company requirements.
• Keeps tractor and loading dock areas clean and organized.
