McGill Environmental Systems in Waverly, VA is hiring a CDL A Driver (Dump Trailers, Roll-Offs, Walking Floors) for local hauling. You’ll operate dump trailers and walking floor equipment, delivering organic materials and finished compost to customer locations and facilities.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Safe driving record.
• Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends as needed.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• 1+ year of CDL A driving experience preferred.
• Experience with dump trailers, roll-offs, walking floor trailers, or similar equipment preferred.
• Experience in waste, recycling, construction, aggregate, or hauling operations preferred.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and equipment familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, dump trailers, roll-offs, and walking floor trailers.
• Transport organic materials, yard waste, and finished compost products.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Complete required DOT logs, inspection reports, and load documentation.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safety standards.
• Maintain consistent communication with dispatch and operations teams.
• Ensure loads are secured and transported safely.
• Assist with loading and unloading activities when needed.
• Deliver excellent customer service at all customer and company locations.

The Role

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods while operating commercial vehicles
• Ability to climb in and out of trucks and trailers throughout the workday
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds when necessary
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to safely secure, inspect, and transport loads
