Job summary

Hardwood Industries, Inc. is seeking a CDL-A Driver to safely deliver hardwood lumber and related products to customer locations. This position emphasizes safety, efficiency, customer service, and delivery accuracy in a non‑OTR, Monday–Friday schedule.

You will perform thorough pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, secure loads, and communicate effectively with dispatch and customers while representing the company with professionalism.

Qualifications

  • Valid CDL‑A license required.
  • Ability to pass pre‑employment and random drug screens.
  • Commitment to CDL‑A classes and ongoing training.
  • Previous CDL‑A driving experience preferred (training provided).
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Residency within the Portland Metro Area or Willamette Valley preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Hardwood Industries in a professional manner at customer locations.
  • Maintain safe work zones at pickup and delivery sites.
  • Adhere to delivery schedules and route plans.
  • Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections; conduct load checks to secure materials.
  • Load and unload trailers using forklifts as needed; hand‑unload when forklifts aren’t available.
  • Communicate clearly with dispatch, warehouse, and customers; operate safely in adverse weather.
  • Support safety, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Our drivers are an essential part of our success and serve as the face of our company to customers every day.Position SummaryThe CDL‑A Driver is responsible for safely delivering hardwood lumber and related products to customer locations while representing Hardwood Industries in a professional manner. This role operates within a continuous improvement–focused environment, where drivers are encouraged to improve safety, efficiency, customer service, and delivery accuracy. This position does not require over‑the‑road travel and is primarily a Monday–Friday schedule.Schedule & Travel ExpectationsMonday through Friday work scheduleNo over‑the‑road (OTR) travel required1–2 trips per month to Eastern Washington requiring overnight staysLodging provided at local area hotelsEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesRepresent Hardwood Industries in a friendly, professional manner at all customer locationsMaintain safe work zones at pickup and delivery sitesAdhere to assigned delivery schedules and route plansPerform thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip inspectionsConduct load checks to ensure all materials are properly securedEnsure vehicle and load compliance with all federal, state, and local regulationsDeliver product and provide invoices upon completion of each deliveryLoad and unload trailers as needed using forklifts (Hyster) at company locations or yardsSafely hand‑unload materials at customer sites when forklifts are not availableCommunicate clearly with dispatch, warehouse, and customersOperate safely in adverse weather conditions including rain, snow, and iceParticipate in ongoing safety, training, and continuous improvement effortsPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
