Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Class A CDL Driver to support Trench Safety needs by delivering equipment in a safe, timely and courteous manner. You’ll be a company ambassador, frequently interacting with customers and returning home every night.

Responsibilities include dropping off/picking up equipment, operating trucks and cranes per specs, maintaining logs and performing pre-trip inspections, and promoting additional equipment and supplies to customers.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving record.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of construction equipment and safe driving procedures.
• Diligent attention to safety.
• Minimum of 2 years DOT regulated Commercial Driving Experience.

• Operate construction equipment, such as semi-trucks and trailers (low boys) per DOT classifications CDL-A.
• Maintain driver’s logs and complete pre-trip inspections.
• Suggest additional equipment and supplies customers may need.
• Must also be able to operate boom trucks and cranes per manufacturer specifications.
• Adhere to all safety requirements related to equipment including FMCSA regulations.
• Other duties assigned as needed.

What you’ll do:

• Drop off and pick up equipment for customers
• Operate construction equipment, such as semi-trucks and trailers (“low boys”) consistent with DOT classification CDL-A
• Maintain driver’s logs and complete pre-trip inspections
• Suggest additional equipment and supplies customers may need
• Must also be able to operate boom trucks and cranes in accordance with manufacturer specifications
• Adhere to all safety requirements particular to equipment including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
• Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements:

• Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving record
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 2 years DOT regulated Commercial Driving Experience
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs
• Basic knowledge of construction equipment and safe driving procedures
• Diligent attention to safety
