Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Class A CDL Driver to deliver equipment to customers, ensuring safety, timeliness, and courteous service. You will be a company ambassador, with opportunities for career advancement, and you’ll be home each night given the local operations in your area.

Responsibilities include equipment drop-offs/pickups, DOT-compliant driving, safety-inspections, and maintaining logs. Strong customer service, teamwork, and communication are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving record.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Commitment to safety and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Drop off and pick up equipment for customers.
• Operate construction equipment including trucks and trailers per DOT rules.
• Follow safety requirements and perform pre-trip inspections.
• Maintain driver logs and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Identify equipment needs and upsell to customers as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

As a Class A CDL Driver at United Rentals, your goal will be to deliver equipment to our customers in a safe, timely, efficient and courteous manner. What you’ll do:

• Drop off and pick up equipment for customers

• Operate construction equipment, such as semi-trucks and trailers (“low boys”) consistent with DOT classification CDL-A

• Adhere to all safety requirements particular to equipment including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations

• Maintain driver’s logs and complete pre-trip inspections

• Suggest additional equipment and supplies customers may need

• Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements:

• Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving record

• High School Diploma or GED

• Minimum of 2 years DOT regulated Commercial Driving Experience

• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills

• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs

• Basic knowledge of construction equipment and safe driving procedures

• Diligent attention to safety
