Job summary

Ewing Outdoor Supply, a fourth-generation family-owned wholesale landscape, irrigation, and outdoor supply company in New Braunfels, TX, seeks a dependable CDL Driver to plan and execute delivery routes for customers and transfer materials between locations. This role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and world-class service.

The ideal candidate will hold a valid CDL, have forklift capability, and be comfortable with GPS/AVL systems and CB radios.

Qualifications

• Proven work experience as a CDL Driver.
• Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc.).
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
• No recent moving or driving violations.
• Valid CDL license.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other yard equipment.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Moffet & forklift experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
• Transport materials to and from retail or distribution centers.
• Customer job site and warehouse delivery.
• Conduct pre and post trip vehicle inspections for mechanical items and safety issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles.
• Comply with CDL rules and regulations and company policies.
• Report defects, accidents, or violations.
• Communicate effectively with team members to fulfill orders and resolve issues.
• Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries.

This diverse driving role includesplanning delivery routes, transporting deliveries to customers, and transferring materials between our locations — making it ideal for someone who enjoysbeingactive and being part of a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.This role also requires maintaining maintenance and safety standards while providing world-class customer service while on delivery sites.

Responsibilities

As a CDL Driver, your role supports day-to-day operations in a fast-paced wholesale environment serving contractors and industry professionals. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Delivery and Transportation

• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
• Transport materials to and from retail or distribution centers.
• Customer job site and warehouse delivery

Vehicle Maintenance & Safety

• Conduct pre and post trip vehicle inspections for mechanical items and safety issues
• Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles
• Comply with CDL rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
• Report defects, accidents, or violations

Customer Service

• Communicate effectively with team members to fulfill orders and resolve issues
• Provide exceptional customer service while interacting with customers on deliveries

What we are looking for…

• Proven work experience as a CDL Driver
• Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc.)
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• No recent moving or driving violations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)
• Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations
• Valid CDL license
• Ability to operate forklifts and other yard equipment
• Strong customer service skills
• Moffit & forklift experience is a plus
