Job summary

Univar Solutions in Anchorage, AK invites experienced truck drivers to join our hazardous materials delivery team. You will operate tractor/trailer equipment, adhere to DOT regulations, and ensure safe, on-time pickups and deliveries of hazardous materials.

The role requires a valid CDL-A with HazMat and Tanker endorsements, 2+ years of CDL-A driving, and the ability to handle manual and automatic transmissions. Compensation reflects experience and location, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of CDL-A driving experience.

  • Possess respiratory protection equipment and training.

Responsibilities

  • Pick-up and delivery of hazardous materials and wastes.
  • Ensure the safety and compliance of loads.
  • Use Samsara e-Logging device to manage driver statuses and routing.
  • Use ePOD to capture customer delivery receipts and shipment documents.
  • Perform other duties to complete deliveries and pickups.

Primary Purpose

Operates and maintains company tractor/trailer/tanker to make pickups and deliveries. Transports hazardous materials and wastes in full compliance with applicable federal, state, local statutes and regulations and company policies. Position requires working tractor/trailer components, including bending and cranking landing gear as well as climbing in and out of cabs and sitting for extended periods of time.


Responsibilities:


  • Pick-up and delivery of hazardous materials and wastes

  • Ensure safety and compliance of load

  • Use onboard Samsara e-Logging Device manage proper driver duty statuses and planned freight order delivery routing sequencing.

  • Use ePOD device to accurately capture customer delivery receipt of goods and other relevant shipment documents

  • Perform all other duties as required to make proper deliveries and pick-ups for customers


Education/Experience/Training/Certifications:


  • Ability to read, write, count, understand and speak English

  • Valid Class A CDL license (with HazMat and Tanker endorsements) and no restrictions

  • Ability to use and maintain respiratory protections equipment

  • 22 years old or older

  • 2+ years of CDL-A driving experience

  • Ability to drive a manual and automatic transmission


Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions/Other Requirements:


  • Physical ability to lift and carry at least 100 pounds, tilt back or break 800 lb. net drums onto a dolly and stand/walk for long periods of time

  • Test negative on the company’s drug tests

  • Satisfy all DOT physical qualifications requirements to qualify & maintain a CDL-A

  • May be handling potentially hazardous substances

  • Required to wear PPE
