McLane is hiring CDL-A Delivery Drivers in Fredericksburg, VA. You will drive, inspect, and deliver products to customer locations, maintaining logs per DOT guidelines and ensuring safe, efficient service. Home daily and eligible for strong, company-backed benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• CDL-A license required and clean driving record.
• Minimum 1 year or 50,000 miles of tractor-trailer driving experience.
• Ability to read, write and understand basic English.
• Must meet MVR and risk rating requirements.
• Age 21 or older.

Responsibilities

• Inspect tractor-trailer before and after trips and submit DOT reports.
• Verify bill of lading and keep keys for off-hour deliveries.
• Operate tractor-trailer per regulations and customer site rules.
• Maintain driver logs per DOT regulations and document temps.
• Unload deliveries and place products at customer locations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll do as a CDL-A Delivery Driver:

• Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report indicating condition.


• Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off-hour delivery.


• Drive tractor-trailer to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle on the road and on customer premises.


• Maintain driver log (Manual or Peoplenet) according to DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipt, product temperatures and exceptions.


• Unload trailer, delivering product into customer premises.


• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications you'll bring as a CDL-A Teammate:

• At least 21 years of age


• Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A)


• At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience


• Must meet McLane's MVR and risk rating qualifications


• This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
