Job summary

A.F. Wendling Food Service is seeking a Delivery Driver with a valid CDL A to safely operate a tractor-trailer and unload deliveries. The role emphasizes customer relations and on-time performance on an assigned route.

Responsibilities include loading/offloading, collecting payments where required, maintaining DOT logs, and completing pre- and post-trip inspections. This position requires daily dedication, accuracy, and teamwork with the Transportation Manager.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Driver's License.
• Must possess acceptable MVR based on hiring standards.
• Must meet all DOT regulatory requirements under FMCSA.
• Ability to count and perform basic math.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete required training.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team member.
• Adhere to a Schedule/assigned route.
• Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must have a strong sense of urgency to meet objectives and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Drive to and deliver customer orders according to a pre-determined route.
• Unload products from trailer using a two-wheeler and ramp to designated storage areas.
• Verify delivery of correct items with customer and obtain signatures.
• Collect money (cash or check) where required.
• Maintain DOT logs throughout the day.
• Perform pre-trip duties and inspections; verify route/account numbers; complete DVIR forms.
• Perform post-trip duties; unload damaged goods or returns; complete paperwork and turn in funds; secure truck; complete post-trip inspection.
