Job summary

Performance Foodservice in Reserve, LA is seeking an Entry Level Driver Trainee to learn tractor trailer and dock-to-driver operations. Monday–Friday start times 3am–5am, no overnights, routes locally and interstate with safety as priority.

This program leads to CDL A qualification, on-site training, and DOT-compliant procedures. Day 1 benefits, paid training, and potential growth within a national food-distribution network.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
• 1 year of service in good standing in PFG program, able to attain CDL Permit and DOT Health Card.
• External Entry Level Hire: 0-6 months Valid CDL A.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Pass post offer drug test.
• Pass road test.
• Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card.
• Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move freight up to 90 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete the Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program as required.
• Ride with and assist the driver trainer during deliveries.
• Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT regulations and report issues.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety guidelines and report hazards.
• Inspect trailer loading and verify customer invoices and required paperwork.
• Drive to deliver customer orders according to route schedule.
• Unload products, obtain customer signatures, and handle payments when required.
• Lock and secure tractor, trailer and freight at all times.
• Complete daily hours-of-service records and related paperwork.
• Perform general housekeeping and support other duties as assigned.
