Job summary

Gordon Food Service is seeking a CDL A Delivery Driver in Ottawa, IL. You will deliver food products to diverse customers, build relationships, and work as vacation relief for daily sales service drivers, chain delivery drivers, and transit positions.

You may unload up to 100 lbs and operate a two-wheel cart throughout shifts. Starting schedule Monday–Friday with early start times; compensation averages $75–85k per year with daily base pay plus miles, stops, and cases delivered.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid CDL Class A license.
• Able to unload cases up to 100 lbs and operate a two-wheel cart for up to 350 lbs.
• Must read, write and communicate in English.
• Pass pre-employment drug test and DOT background checks.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food products to restaurants, schools, hospitals and more.
• Unload cases and deliver to routes; use ramp as needed.
• Maintain safety, and complete paperwork and scanners as required.

CDL A Delivery Driver

Do you have a passion for driving? Are you looking for more home time? Picture yourself as a delivery driver with Gordon Food Service! In this position, you will be building relationships with customers while delivering food products essential to restaurants, schools, hospitals, universities, and more. This position works as vacation relief for our daily sales service drivers, chain delivery drivers, and transit positions. You will be required to unload cases up to 100 lbs, and you'll be using a ramp and two-wheeler throughout your shift. Feel safe and secure at a company that values and respects you. Schedule

Monday - Friday Start time between 3-5am & work until route is finished.

Pay: Drivers average $75-85k/year

• Daily base pay, plus component pay
• Paid for every mile driven, stop made, and case delivered

Does this look like you?

• At least 21 years of age
• Class A CDL License at hire
• Ability to operate a two-wheel cart with loads of up to 350 pounds
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs throughout the shift
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English (to read labels, pick lists, scanners, signage, company website information related to benefits, updates, complete paperwork, and follow verbal instructions)
• Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage (including marijuana) and a background check
• Clean driving record; as required by DOT and Gordon Food Service standards
• You must be registered through the Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and provide electronic consent in order to be considered for employment with us effective January 6th, 2020.
