Job summary

QXO in San Diego, CA is seeking a CDL driver to support our building products distribution and installation operations. This role involves touch‑freight, lifting up to 75 lbs, pre‑inspecting the truck, loading materials, and maintaining safe on‑site conditions.

Work closely with dispatch, verify loads, follow DOT safety procedures, and wear required PPE. Must be 21+, hold a valid Class A or B CDL, have at least 12 months of verifiable commercial driving experience, and be comfortable outdoors in

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid Class A or B CDL license in good standing.
• At least 12 months of verifiable commercial driving experience.
• Experience operating heavy equipment and driving a manual-transmission truck.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform touch-freight tasks, which may require lifting, moving, or carrying products weighing over 75 lbs
• Pre-inspect the truck, load materials, and verify the accuracy of the load
• Notify branch management of any potential hazards on site
• Set up job parameters and inspect the site to ensure a safe environment for loading and unloading
• Maintain regular communication with the dispatcher to ensure timely delivery of products
• Follow all DOT and company safety procedures, and always wear appropriate PPE
