Job summary

Approved Freight Forwarders in City of Industry, CA is seeking an experienced CDL Class A driver to join our growing team. The position pays $30-$33 per hour and requires Hazmat endorsements and a TWIC card, with overtime possible based on business needs.

Responsibilities include driving and operating trucks, pre/post-trip inspections, cargo securement, paperwork accuracy, and professional communication with customers and co-workers. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

  • Must have a current CDL Class A license.
  • Hazmat endorsements and TWIC card required.
  • No DUI/DWI convictions in the past 3 years.
  • 3–5 years of local port driving experience.
  • Pass DOT medical exam and drug test for a Medical Card.
  • Proficient with GPS and routing systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Perform daily truck maintenance (fueling, cleaning).
  • Report damages and injuries promptly.

  • Overtime may be required as needed.

CDL A Driver
Approved Freight Forwarders is seeking for experienced CDL Class A drivers to join our growing team in City of Industry. Applicants must be dependable and efficient who possess a great deal of physical and mental stamina to be able to withstand long hours of commuting. Applicants must be organized, detailed oriented and self-driven to ensure we provide our customers with a world-class “Approved” experience. The pay for this position is $30 - $33/hr.

Monday 5pm start time, 1-3 am end time

Tuesday 5pm start time, 1-3 am end time

Wednesday 5pm start time, 1-3 am end time

Thursday 5pm start time, 1-3 am end time

Friday 5pm start time, 1-3 am end time


The above start times rotate weekly.
*Please note that this schedule is subject to change based on business needs and operational requirements. Additionally,overtimemay be required as necessary to ensure the completion of work, and shifts may extend until tasks are completed.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive and operate trucks.
  • Perform both pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck is in compliance and safe to operate.
  • Performing daily maintenance of the truck (Refueling, cleaning, etc)
  • Report all damages and/ or injuries promptly.
  • Ensuring that the truck always has sufficient fuel.
  • Proper securement of the cargo load to prevent damage and/or injuries.
  • Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive according to the weather/road conditions.
  • Load and unload Cargo (If applicable)
  • Communicate professionally with customers and co-workers.
  • Adhere to/follow ALL company "Safety" practices, policies, and procedures, including DOT requirements.
  • Adhere to company rules and regulations.
  • Pick up goods and materials, verify loads for accuracy, compliance, and deliver as instructed.
  • Complete and verify paperwork for accuracy.
  • Follow directions and open communication with supervisors, dispatcher(s), and customers.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Always make safety a priority.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a current Commercial Driver's license (CDL) Class A
  • (H) Hazmat endorsements and a TWIC card are required.
  • Driver history must consist of no violations, at-fault accidents, or traffic-related convictions within 3 years.
  • No DUI/DWI convictions.
  • 3-5 years of local port drivingexperience.
  • A current DHR from the DMV is a must.
  • Ability to drive safely irrespective of the weather or time of day.
  • Must be able to pass and complete a pre-employment DOT physical exam & drug test to obtain a Medical Card as required by the DOT.
  • Proficient in using GPS and other routing systems.
  • High level of composure and good stress management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.. unassisted.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods.
  • Enter and exit equipment by stepping and kneeling.
  • Crouch and squat for the pre- and post-inspections
