Job summary

Optum Insight is seeking a Clinical Document Improvement Specialist to oversee inpatient CDI and implement reviews at Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu. The role drives accurate documentation, supports code assignment, and uses Optum CDI 3D technology to improve care quality and revenue integrity.

The position partners with physicians and care teams to identify documentation gaps, provide education, and ensure compliance with Optum 360 standards.

Qualifications

• RN license or CDI background with relevant certification.
• Experience collaborating with physicians and care teams.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and EMR systems.
• Ability to lead documentation improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert inpatient record review within 24-48 hours of admit.
• Lead CDI program oversight and provider education initiatives.
• Clarify documentation requirements to ensure accurate coding.
• Engage with HIM Coding Professionals to reconcile DRGs.
• Utilize CDI 3D technology to document clarification activity.
• Coordinate with Care Coordination and Quality Management teams.
