Job summary

ArchWell Health is seeking a Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist (CDIS) to enhance the quality of outpatient documentation, ensure alignment with CMS/HCC guidelines, and support coding accuracy in the electronic medical record across our network of clinics.

The CDIS will educate physicians and staff, review charts concurrently and retrospectively, and travel to assigned outpatient centers at least one week per month to present findings and provide guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Experience with EMR systems and CMS HCC models/coding guidelines.
• Strong documentation and education abilities.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate documentation through concurrent, prospective, and retrospective chart reviews.
• Ensure documentation follows CMS HCC and coding guidelines.
• Identify gaps in documentation and provide feedback to clinicians.
• Educate physicians and clinic staff on documentation and coding requirements.
• Provide education on new policies related to coding and documentation.
