Job summary

As our Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Specialist, you will perform concurrent and retrospective reviews of inpatient records, identify documentation gaps, and collaborate with physicians and the CDI team to ensure accurate coding and appropriate severity of illness.

Qualifications

• Active US RN license required.
• Front line CDI experience in an acute care hospital.
• 3–5 years of recent clinical work in medical-surgical, ICU, telemetry or ED.
• Knowledge of EMR and CDI platforms.

Responsibilities

• Conduct concurrent and retrospective reviews of inpatient records to improve documentation.
• Identify opportunities to enhance quality of medical record documentation and coding accuracy.
• Query physicians and educate staff on documentation requirements and coding guidelines.
• Collaborate with coders, auditors and CDI team to resolve documentation issues.
