Job summary

Center for Developmentally Disabled (CDD) is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide direct behavioral support to adults with developmental disabilities in home and community settings. You will implement ABA programming under BCBA supervision and contribute to skill-building through BIPs and data collection.

Ideal candidates will have an RBT certification, a high school diploma or GED, and strong communication skills.

Full-Time | Kansas City Metro | Community-Based | Non-Exempt | $20.50-$22.40/hour + Full Benefits

CDD is looking for a compassionate, skilled Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide direct behavioral support to adults with developmental disabilities in home and community settings. Working under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), you will implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programming, Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and skill-acquisition strategies that help individuals build greater independence and participate more fully in community life.

What You'll Do

• Implement ABA treatment plans, Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and skill-acquisition programs under BCBA supervision.
• Provide direct behavioral support during daily routines, activities, transitions, and community participation.
• Use positive behavior supports, reinforcement strategies, de-escalation techniques, and approved crisis-intervention procedures.
• Collect objective behavioral data and complete service documentation, progress notes, and incident reports.
• Model behavioral strategies and support staff in implementing interventions consistently.
• Assist with behavior assessments and plan updates while promoting dignity, independence, and self-determination.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
• Knowledge of ABA principles, positive behavior supports, data collection, crisis prevention, and de-escalation.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organization, documentation, and person-centered support skills.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to successfully complete required background screening and agency requirements.

Preferred

• One to two years of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities, autism, or behavioral challenges.
• Experience implementing ABA interventions or Behavior Intervention Plans in community-based, residential, or human-services settings.
