The CDBG-DR Managing Associate will help navigate complex Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program and policy development, implementation, and successful outcomes challenges for our clients. The candidate should have a passion for disaster recovery, and be able to interpret and apply federal and US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) specific statutes and guidance as well as governing Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) applicable governing sections. This is a full-time employment position that will be fully remote but may on occasion require travel to client locations.

Responsibilities of the CDBG-DR Managing Associate Include:
  • Assist Project Managers in tracking project progress, ensuring the timely achievement of milestones, and making adjustments to timelines or resource allocations as required.
  • Support the development of policy and procedure manuals in collaboration with Project Managers.
  • Conduct research and analysis on various disaster recovery compliance topics including financial controls, grant outcomes and deliverables, eligibility, program delivery, compliance with 2CFR 200 federal procurement, and general CDBG-DR best practices in administering grants to serve as a resource guide for our clients and staff.
  • Maintain effective engagement with clients and stakeholders, ensuring timely follow-ups and providing proactive support to address client needs.
  • Offer technical support by utilizing proprietary project management tools, including PowerBI, Quickbase, and Salesforce.
Qualifications of the CDBG-DR Managing Associate Include:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in the field of finance, accounting, business management, economics, public administration, or a similar discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in federal grants management compliance (preferably Community Development Block Grant, Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery, Emergency Solutions Grant, or HOME Investment Partnerships).
  • The desire to impart knowledge and capacity building to various project stakeholders and assist, as needed, to guide and ensure that they are in full programmatic compliance.
  • Ability to serve as a technical assistance resource to clients and grant subrecipients.
Compensation for the CDBG-DR Managing Associate Includes:
  • Salary Range of $70,000-$110,000. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and training, licensure and certifications, internal equity, location, travel requirements, and other business and organizational needs.
