Job summary

SHORE UP!, Inc. is seeking CDA Trainees for our Early Head Start program. You will assist teachers in planning and implementing activities that foster children’s growth across intellectual, emotional, social, and physical domains in a safe and healthy classroom.

You’ll work Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm, with starting pay at $15.25 per hour. Applicants must pursue CDA credentialing and complete required background checks and vaccinations as applicable.

Qualifications

• Must complete 120 hours of professional early childhood education as part of CDA requirements.
• Have 480 hours of work experience with children in the relevant age group.
• Pass the written CDA exam and complete required portfolios.
• Schedule and be observed by the CDA council during the credential process.
• Enrolled in a program leading to an associate or bachelor’s degree within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Assist Teachers in planning and implementing learning experiences for children.
• Support development of intellectual, emotional, social and physical skills.
• Encourage family involvement and strengthen relationships with families.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

AA or BS degree in unrelated field

Enrolled in CDA credential program

120 clock hours of professional early childhood education

480 hours of work experience with children

Pass the written exam

Complete Family Questionnaires and Professional Portfolio
