Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Community Development Banking Associate within our Commercial Real Estate team in San Francisco, CA. You will support underwriting and approval for acquisition, construction, and permanent loans sourced by originations colleagues, reporting to a CDRE Banker.

The role emphasizes LIHTC experience, affordable housing finance, strong financial modeling, and collaboration with Credit, CRELA, Legal and other partners to close loans efficiently.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required.
• Experience in community development lending for LIHTC and housing.
• Strong financial modeling and risk assessment skills.
• Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Knowledge of bank credit policies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze client, sponsor, and deal information; maintain records.
• Support pitch preparation; evaluate terms and budgets.
• Prepare LOIs/term sheets with Credit Originator.
• Build profitability models with originations team.
• Coordinate due diligence and data submissions.
• Facilitate appraisals and third-party reports; manage costs and timelines.
• Coordinate internal communications to support onboarding and closing.
• Collect required documentation and KYC initiation.
• Track sponsor exposure and deal progress.
• Monitor progress and flag issues affecting closing timelines.
