Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• Basic ability to read, write and perform simple math.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients as delegated by a registered nurse and complete activities of daily living.
• Take and record vital signs and report any unusual observations to the nurse or charge nurse.
• Assist with intake and output measurements and sample collection as needed.
• Provide personal care and assist with daily living activities.
• Perform basic clinical procedures under supervision where appropriate.
• Support patient nutrition needs including room service setup and feeding as required.
• Uphold infection control policies and safety protocols for all patients.
• Assist as a sitter for patient safety when competency is completed.
• Assist with orientation of new Nursing Assistant colleagues.
• Participate in unit activities and adapt to department needs.
