Job summary

The Vortex Companies, LLC is hiring for a full-time role performing remote CCTV inspections, jetting, and pipeline rehabilitation work in Chesapeake, VA. You will operate CCTV cameras, locate manholes, install clean-outs, and assist with inspection and maintenance projects using high-pressure sewer cleaning equipment and related tools.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of relevant experience, knowledge of plans and specifications, and a safety-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience with water, sewer, televising, jetting, or CIPP construction.
• General knowledge of closed-circuit video equipment operation and high-pressure sewer cleaning equipment.
• PACP/MACP/LACP preferred.
• Strong knowledge of plans and specifications.
• Proficient with lasers, line and grade.
• Strong customer service and communication skills along with mechanical aptitude.
• General knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

Responsibilities

• Operate remote CCTV cameras to record interiors of pipelines for inspections, determine cleaning needs, and assess lining candidacy.
• Jetting, cabling, and installing clean-outs.
• Locate manholes from maps.
• Perform miscellaneous related duties and carry out special projects as assigned.
• Operate and maintain equipment.
• Support sewer maintenance, inspection, and rehabilitation tasks.
• Repair pipelines using specified products and processes.
• Perform skilled work supervising and participating in jetting of sewer lines and vactoring of manholes and lift stations.
• Set up and take down traffic control in the street.
• Store footage.

Position Type and Hours

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours are typically Monday through Friday but may include shift work, weekends, evenings, and holidays; flexibility is required as job duties demand.

Salary Range

• $22.00 - $28.00 per hour, depending on qualifications, skills, experience, education, certifications, and geographic location.
