Job summary

Vortex Companies, LLC in Freehold, NJ is seeking a full-time field technician to operate remote CCTV cameras for sewer inspections, determine cleaning needs, and evaluate lining candidates. You will also jet and cable, locate manholes, and support rehabilitation projects.

The role requires at least one year of experience in water/sewer work, familiarity with closed video camera equipment and high-pressure cleaning gear, and may involve shift work and weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• At least 1-year experience with water, sewer, televising, jetting, or CIPP construction.
• General knowledge of the operation of closed video camera equipment, and high pressure sewer cleaning equipment.
• PACP/MACP/LACP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate remote CCTV cameras to record interiors of pipelines for inspections.
• Jetting, cabling, and installing clean-outs.
• Locate manholes from a map.
• Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.
• Operate and maintain equipment.
• Support execution of sewer maintenance, inspection and rehabilitation tasks.
• Repair pipelines using a specific product and process.
• Supervise and participate in jetting of sewer lines and manholes/lift stations.
• Set up/take-down traffic control in the street.
• Store footage and watch surveillance.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Operating remote cameras thatutilizeCCTV to record interiors of various pipelines for inspections todetermineif cleaning is needed (as well as what type) and if thepipe lineis a candidate for lining
• Jetting, cabling, and installing clean-outs
• Locatemanholesfrom a map
• Perform miscellaneous related duties and carry out special projects as assigned
• Operation and maintenance of all equipment
• Performs all work tasksrequiredto support execution of sewer maintenance,inspectionand/or rehabilitation pipeline tasks
• Repair various pipelines using a specific product and process
• Performs difficult skilled work supervising andparticipatingin jetting of sewer lines andvactoringofmanholesand lift station
• Set-up/take-down traffic control in the street

Qualifications

• At least 1-year experience with water, sewer, televising, jetting, or CIPP construction
• General knowledge of the operation of closed video camera equipment, and high pressure sewer cleaning equipment
• PACP/MACP/LACP preferred

• Strong knowledge of plans and specifications
• Proficient skills with lasers, line and grade
• Strong customer service and communication skills along with mechanical aptitude are required
• General knowledge of the occupational hazards of the work and of necessary safety precautions

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday but can include shift work, weekends, evenings, holidays - flexibility is required as job duties demand.

Salary Range

• $30.00 - $35.00, depending on position qualifications, job related skills and experience, education, certifications, and geographic location.
