$22.44/hr - $34.27/hr

Overview

Now hiring a Remote PRN CCS Inpatient Facility Coder! The role requires coding inpatient and outpatient hospital records, ED records, Home Health & Hospice records, and/or professional fee services for PMG specialty providers, demonstrating coding expertise in ICD-9/10 CM and CPT-4 classifications. Ensures adherence to hospital and departmental policies.

Ideal Candidate
  • Must have one of the following coding certifications at hire: CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H, or RHIT/RHIA, with a plan to achieve the certification within one year if not already obtained
Qualifications
  • Three to five years of coding experience required
  • High school diploma/GED required; inpatient coding experience preferred
  • Certified Professional Coder credential is essential
Responsibilities
  • Code multiple service areas or possess extensive experience in a critical specialty
  • Review medical records and assign appropriate codes (CPT, ICD, MS-DRG) for reimbursement and compliance
  • Research medical records using various systems to complete coding timely
  • Maintain knowledge of coding regulations and updates
  • Resolve pre-bill edits and denials
  • Participate in departmental training and updates
  • Maintain at least 95% accuracy rate and high productivity
  • Complete continuing education requirements
