Job summary

The Flatiron Institute's CCQ seeks a Flatiron Research Fellow - Software to design and implement software for CCQ's research in quantum materials, simulations, and algorithms. Emphasis on open-source development and high-quality coding practices will guide the work in a highly collaborative environment.

You will contribute to major code efforts, mentor students, present at seminars, and publish results while advancing software engineering in quantum physics research.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a relevant field.
• Expertise in software and algorithm development and computational methods.
• Strong communication in English, both oral and written.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Developing, implementing, maintaining and supporting scientific software, with a focus on contributing to one or more of the existing software efforts at CCQ
• Performing theoretical and computational research
• Assisting in the organization of CCQ and Flatiron-wide collaborative activities including seminars, workshops and meetings
• Actively participating in the preparation of manuscripts for publication and of presentations at conferences
• Assisting in student mentorship
• Sharing expertise and providing training and guidance to CCQ staff and visitors as needed.
