Certified Peer Specialist Youth

Legacy Behavioral Health Services is hiring a Certified Peer Specialist Youth to provide peer support services focused on Emerging Adult and Adolescent populations. The role requires experience living with a mental health or substance use condition and the ability to share that experience in a supportive manner.

Responsibilities

• Provide rehabilitative skills building.

• Develop environmental supports and coordinate resources.

• Engage and coordinate care of children, adolescents, and young adults with other systems and internal providers.

Qualifications

• Be 18-26 years of age (valid Georgia ID)
• Have a mental health condition, substance use disorder, or a co-occurring diagnosis, and be willing to self-identify as a person living with a mental illness or substance use diagnosis
• Be able and willing to actively seek and manage your own appropriate care
• Be able to share your personal story in a safe and appropriate way
• Be well grounded in recovery wellness
• Have one year between diagnosis and application to training, and if applicable one year continuous abstinence from substance use
• Have a high school diploma or GED
