CITGO Petroleum Corporation invites students to join a paid 11-week Engineering Intern program at our Corpus Christi site. You will learn refinery processes, support engineering packages, and help maintain engineering records while delivering practical, real-world projects.
Ideal candidates are enrolled in Environmental or Chemical Engineering, can commit 40 hours weekly, and possess strong analytical and communication skills. A TWIC eligibility and valid driver’s license are required.

The Engineering intern will become familiar with the refinery organization and work processes while learning refinery safe work practices. The Engineering Intern will assist with technical services, support the development of engineering packages, conduct basic research, and update engineering records and databases. This position is a paid 11-week summer internship. A presentation covering all aspects of the internship experience and accomplishments will be expected at the end of the term.
Monitor process information for compliance with regulatory requirements.
Assist in gathering and analyzing datafor report submittal to agencies.
Work with Automation and Instrumentation Group to resolve issues with process tags and continuous emission monitoring systems.
Assist in coordinating cooling tower compliance monitoring and performance testing for equipment by working with operations and contractors.
Work closely with Environmental Engineers/EnvironmentalAdvisors and other business units.
