Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a CBO Coding Senior Specialist to ensure accurate and compliant medical coding and to support the revenue cycle across the system. You will resolve complex diagnostic accounts, act as a SME, and coach team members on workflows while identifying improvements.

The role requires thorough knowledge of ICD-10 CM, CPT, HCPCS, and several years of coding and revenue cycle experience in a large healthcare system, with RHIT/CPC/CCS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years coding experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years specialty coding experience.
• Minimum of two (2) years revenue cycle experience in a large healthcare system.
• Certification as RHIT, CPC, or CCS.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex diagnostic accounts independently, ensuring accuracy and completeness of coding.
• Act as a subject matter resource, educating team members on account resolution workflows.
• Assist supervisors with escalated issues and provide coaching to team members on challenging accounts.
• Identify areas for performance improvement in workflows, education, and processes.
• Perform quality validation of information to ensure clean, compliant claims are sent to payers.
• Support root-cause analysis by recognizing patterns and trends in coding and billing issues.
