Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a payments applications SME to collaborate with CBO teams and payors, focusing on payment posting accuracy, reconciliation, and process optimization. The role serves as a partner to payment applications leadership and other CBO leaders.

You will coordinate system or process improvements, manage multiple complex tasks, and drive timely issue resolution within Payment Application workflows, including ACH enrollments, with strong communication and analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or 7+ years in hospital/professional billing, contracting, and revenue cycle operations.
• 7+ years of experience in hospital billing, professional billing, contracting, or payment variances.
• 2+ years healthcare experience in a large, complex organization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with CBO teams and payors to improve payment posting accuracy and reconciliation.
• Lead process improvements and optimize Payment Application workflows.
• Partner with payment applications leadership and other CBO leaders to drive timely resolutions.

Job description

With minimal supervision, actively collaborates with CBO teams and payors to enhance efficiencies. Focus on payment accuracy, reconciliation, and process optimization. This role will also serve as a subject matter partner to payment applications leadership and other CBO leadership. Participates in and coordinates system or process improvements.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare, Finance, IT, or a related field OR
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in:
  • Hospital billing
  • Professional billing
  • Contracting
  • Payment variances
  • Healthcare revenue cycle operations
• At least 2 years of healthcare experience required
  • Preferably within a large, complex, integrated healthcare organization

Required Skills & Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of:
  • Medicare and Medicaid guidelines
  • Third-party billing rules and regulations
• Experience with:
  • Data gathering and analysis
  • Organizing information from multiple sources
  • Presenting findings and recommendations to leadership
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Especially Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications

• EPIC experience preferred
