Job summary

V2X, a global provider of mission-support solutions, seeks an aircraft maintenance technician in Pensacola, FL. You will maintain aircraft per Navy and company instructions, use test equipment and GSE, and read complex schematics to ensure readiness.

Qualified candidates have 3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience, familiarity with aircraft systems, and the ability to obtain DoD clearance. A high school diploma is required; FAA A&P license is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) years documented hands-on general experience in aircraft maintenance or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with aircraft systems, tools, drawings, schematics, and safety requirements.
  • Must meet government/company licensing/qualification requirements; FAA A&P license is desirable.

Responsibilities


  • Maintain assigned aircraft in accordance with Navy, Manufacturer, and Company Instructions.

  • Use provided test equipment and Ground Support Equipment to perform assigned tasks.

  • Read, interpret, and apply instructions from blueprints, schematics, and other approved data.

  • Assist with ordering parts, tools, materials, and equipment as required.

  • Document work accomplished on Maintenance Action Forms (MAF)/OOMA.

  • Maintain cleanliness of the work center and around your assigned work area.

  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention rules and regulations.


Essential Duties and Accountabilities


  • Responsible for adhering to Company Tool Control Program.

  • Must comply with established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations as applicable to the contract, facilities, and job assignment.

  • Ensure proper operation and use of special test equipment and Ground Support Equipment.

  • Maintain appropriate records of all work accomplished.

  • May be required to perform simple computer input functions.

  • May be required to perform off‑site service on assigned detachments.

  • Perform corrosion control cleaning and removal as required utilizing appropriate safety precautions.

  • Assist when directed to ensure safety, security, and preservation of Government‑owned and Company‑owned equipment.

  • Perform other reasonably related incidental duties when directed within the job classification.


Qualifications

Must have a minimum of three (3) years documented hands‑on general experience in this specific aircraft maintenance occupational field, or the military or commercial equivalent. Must be familiar with aircraft systems, tools, drawings, schematics, and normal safety requirements. Must be able to meet any Government/company licensing/qualification requirements for the position. FAA A&P License is desired. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.


Additional Requirements


  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

  • Must be able to work weekends, other shifts and overtime as required.

  • The essential physical requirements of the position will be reviewed with the applicant during the interview.

  • Some travel will be required.

  • Must adhere to Company policies/procedures and management instruction.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and Company proprietary data.

  • Completed high school diploma or equivalent.


Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions

Climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, extensive walking, lying down and working in tiring uncomfortable positions. May require lifting of objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 pounds. May require the ability to work within confined spaces for extended periods of time. Special vision abilities required to perform this job are close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.


Work Environment: The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject individuals to severe changes of temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. May be exposed to electrical shock hazards.

  • Formal or Specialized Training/Equivalent

  • Hazardous Waste Communication Training

  • FOD and TCP Awareness Trained

  • Security Clearance Awareness Training

  • CNAF 4790.2 Program Awareness

  • ISO 9001-2000 Program Awareness

  • OOMA System Trained

  • Valid State Driver's License

  • Ground Support Equipment Operator Certified

  • FAA A&P License (desired)

  • ESD Trained

  • Egress System Checkout

  • Aircraft Confined Space Entrant Trained (may be required)

  • Duct diver - Ability to perform services lying down within confined spaces (17”H X 13”W) (may be required)

  • Fuel Surveillance Trained

  • Aircraft Towing Certified

  • Aircraft Brake Rider Certified

  • Plane Captain Certified (may be required)

  • Collateral Duty Inspector (may be required)

  • Hydraulic Contamination (may be required)

  • Aircraft Turn-up Certification (may be required)

  • Tire and Wheel Certification (may be required)

  • Composite Material Repair Certified (may be required)

  • Respiratory Fitted Certified (may be required)

  • Operational Risk Management (ORM) Training

  • Release Aircraft Safe for Flight (may be required)
