CBA Aircraft Mechanic (I Level- Structures) - T45 Kingsville, TX

Job Overview

The role involves performing modifications, removals, replacements, and reinstallation actions; fabricating parts; creating layouts and templates to ensure structural integrity and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Adjust, set-up, troubleshoot, repair, and demonstrate proper use of shop metalworking equipment, hand tools, powered tools, fastener installation tooling, and fixtures for aircraft structural maintenance.
  2. Develop, design, recommend, and determine structural repair and replacement procedures, including fastener and material selection, damaged area cutouts, etc.
  3. Inspect and determine fabrication procedures for metal, plastic, phenolic, and fiberglass parts, including layout, fastener, and material type, ensuring quality and completeness.
  4. Assist in P&E report preparation.
  5. Use sight levels, transits, and perform aircraft optical alignment checks as required.
  6. Provide technical guidance, assistance, and instruction.
  7. Maintain records and complete maintenance forms.
  8. Utilize schematics, drawings, charts, and publications for troubleshooting, repairs, testing, and modifications.
  9. Perform aircraft inventory, acceptance, and transfer inspections.
  10. Perform engine, flight control, and landing gear rigging; may be required to perform off-site service.
  11. Turn-up aircraft as needed and perform collateral inspection duties.
  12. Troubleshoot, service, and repair aircraft engines, airframes, and systems for airworthiness.
  13. Repair, replace, and rebuild major aircraft structures such as wings, fuselage, empennage, and landing gear systems.
  14. Remove and replace aircraft engines using appropriate support equipment.
  15. Perform miscellaneous duties including cleaning, lubing, and turn flushing of aircraft systems and components.
  16. Adhere to all FOD prevention and Tool Control Program regulations.
  17. Document work on Maintenance Action Forms or NALCOMIS System.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned, including standing rotating shifts and traveling up to 10% of the time.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as an I Level Airframe Structural Mechanic or successful completion of T45 OJT Program.
  • Familiarity with aircraft systems, tools, drawings, schematics, and safety requirements.
  • Experience in corrosion detection, treatment, and prevention.
  • Preferred but not required: Completion of U.S. Navy aircraft structural repair AMS 'A' or 'B' school or equivalent; FAA Airframe license.
  • Must obtain and maintain a CAC and required government clearance; valid driver’s license required.
Physical and Work Environment

This role requires physical activities such as climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and working in tiring positions. May lift objects up to 50 pounds. Work environment varies from hangar/shop to outdoor conditions with potential exposure to noise, electrical hazards, fumes, and moving parts.
