Job summary

Friona Industries LP is seeking an accounting professional to support day-to-day cattle accounting, procurement, and livestock payments. This role interfaces with operations and accounting to maintain daily, monthly, and annual reports and reports to the Senior Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities include managing cattle inventory subledgers, processing payments, reconciling contracts, and assisting with audits and month-end close.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED preferred.
• Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance, or related experience preferred.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
• Cattle accounting experience helpful.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Able to work independently and proactively.

Responsibilities

• Manage cattle inventory subledger and transactions.
• Gather backup and prepare invoices for cattle.
• Verify information on invoices and purchase orders.
• Process payments by checks, drafts, wires, and ACH.
• Coordinate with senior accountant to clear drafts and checks daily.
• Reconcile and close contracts in cattle procurement system.
• Perform monthly lien searches on suppliers.
• Support month-end closing activities and audits.
• Prepare operational and financial reports for management.
